A pain in the roots of the teeth are not severe, but disturb the whole schedule. You can't eat anything properly or speak properly. You want to get rid of the pain as quickly as you can. There are lots of home remedies that will not let the plaque touch your oral hygiene.  Your teeth will reflect their health in the smile that keeps hanging on your face, enhancing your personality.

But don't forget to brush, rinse, do flossing and a keep a mouthwash. You can't ignore any of them to keep your teeth and gums healthy.  Some herbal and natural foods do help in making the teeth clean and healthy gums, stay with you forever. You don't have to go anywhere in search of them,  but these are lying in your home or your grocery store. These are the daily use  items that we use daily, but didn't know how to use them to keep our oral  health fine.

Baking soda,  Eucalyptol, tea tree oil and menthol, lozenges or Xylitol gum, green tea, and vitamin D. All of them help in cleaning and flossing our gums. When the gums begin bleeding, that's the first sign that everything is not right with your gums or teeth. If you take casual care of your mouth, the plaque is inevitable,  which keeps increasing and ultimately gingivitis has to happen. It leads to  inflammation and blood comes out from the infected gums.

What if ignored?

If ignored, it becomes Periodontitis, infecting your gums by teeth losing their form to stand upright and thus they come out of the infected gums. Lack of vitamins C &  K. Bleeding continues in the gums even when you wear dentures. If you get pregnant, hormonal change is inevitable. Causing further medical complications.  Never disregard them, but take utmost care of them. But if you remain in an alert mood then certain home foods can work as a remedy for teeth decay. Let's  discuss some of the foods that don't let the teeth decay.

What are the home remedies to cure  bleeding gums?


All humans should brush their teeth with a toothpaste in the morning. Do the flossing and clean your tongue by a tongue cleaner. It helps in throwing out all the bacteria that has accumulated when you were sleeping. It freshens you up if your toothpaste has fluoride in it. Brush your teeth and fluoride helps in killing all germs present in your gums and cleans the plaque and tartar from your teeth. This way it maintains the oral health of your mouth and keeps it sanitized. Brush your teeth twice a day after meals, for reaping the best  benefits.

Tea Tree Oil:-

Tea tree oil has strong anti-microbial and anti-septic features, which are able to tackle infections that cause the gum's bleeding. This oil also has anti-inflammatory properties, thus reducing  inflammation and swelling from the gums. Get 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil and mix it in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Massage this mixture on your bleeding gums, gently. Leave it over there for 5 to 10 minutes and then gargle with plain water thoroughly. Do it twice a day for best results.

Salt water mouth rinse:-

Salt contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory features,  these lower the inflammation and swelling, thus keeps fighting the infections that cause the gums to bleed. You need 1 teaspoon of salt and put it in 1 glass of warm water. Stir well. Now rinse your mouth thoroughly with this saline solution. You need to do this 2 to 3 times a day.


Honey being anti-bacterial is a proven remedy against bacterial infections such as gingivitis that causes gum bleeding. It also has anti-inflammatory and has extreme  healing powers that help in lowering inflammation and swelling from your gums.  Take some honey and massage your gums with your fingertips, gently. This whole  process needs to be done twice a day to get the best results.

Tea Bags:-

Tea has a compound called tannic acid, which has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation features that halt the bleeding from your gums and butchers the bacteria which was responsible for creating this mess.  You need 1 tea bag and hot water. Soak the tea bag in water for 10 to 15  minutes. After removing the tea bags let it cool down on its own. Place it on your infected gums and leave for 5 minutes. You can do this process twice a  day.


Milk is rich in having vitamin K and calcium, which makes your gums powerful and halts bleeding.  It has anti-inflammatory features which help in lowering and soothing the inflammation and reduce swelling that had emerged in such an environment. Get a cup of warm milk, the time when your gums start bleeding. Do this process once or twice a day.

After you have finished this process, do brush your teeth with your  fluoride toothpaste.


Lemons have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial  features. Its anti-inflammatory features help in reducing swelling and bleeding and its anti-bacterial features help in fighting the infections that weaken the gums and forces them to bleed. Get a lemon and a cup of water.  Squeeze the lemon juice and put it in the cup of water. After every meal, rinse your mouth with this solution. You better do it after every meal.

Oil Pulling:-

Oil pulling is great for maintaining oral health. It combats with gingivitis and periodontitis that makes the gums bleed. It produces anti-oxidants that butchers the microbes from the mouth. Mostly sesame oil and coconut oil possess unique anti-microbial features. 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and the same quantity of sesame oil. Mix them both and swish in your mouth for about 10 to 15 minutes. This process needs to be done regularly.

All these home remedies need to be tried at home, but getting the advice from your doctor doubles if they don't provide the basic results and your gums keep bleeding. Now is the time to see your dentist. He/she will give you a better advice.
