A Certified Hakomi Body-Mindfulness Practitioner and Certified Circle of Life Coach, Maya facilitates individuals and couples through major life transitions such as life-threatening illness, divorce/break-ups, career changes and spiritual emergences. Using mindfulness and body-centered techniques, movement and expressive arts therapy and intuitive processes, she guides her clients to tap into their own inner wisdom and to gain more enlightened perspectives on the transition they are moving through.
Her goal is to support each individual to identify and live their most authentic soul path, step by step, with grace, ease, integrity and intuitive flow. Maya brings a deep intuitive and practical understanding of organic transformational processes, gleaned from many years of being a doula (birth coach), an intuitive body-worker, a 30 year practice of meditation and Authentic Movement and having moved through a number of her own death/rebirth experiences.
Guided by Taoist and Buddhist principles of non-force, compassionate presence, and a belief in the interconnectedness of all life, her facilitation is both gentle and supportive as well as powerfully focused and effective. She also sees each individual's path of growth and evolution in the context of the greater collective and particularly with regard to the current evolution of consciousness and paradigm shift that is underway on the planet.
Maya has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master's Degree in Holistic Health and Expressive Arts Therapy (from Lesley College Graduate Institute).
She has also been trained in Holodynamics, Theta and Reconnective Healing, Dreamwork and several indigenous shamanic practices. She has been a Certified Trainer for the Hakomi Instituteof Experiential Psychotherapy for over 16 years, was on the adjunct faculty of Cambridge College Graduate School of Education for 8 years, and is currently a trainer for the Circle of Life Coaching Institute. She has led workshops and trainings in body-mind transformational processes, vision quests, and retreats across the U. S., Australia and New Zealand for over 30 years.
