Paulo S. Rebello, Oakland therapist IMF81725
About the practice
As we journey through life and relationships, both happy and painful moments become embedded in our memories and bodies, leading to adapting behaviors and habits that help us survive. Therapy is about contextualizing these moments and understanding that we are always doing the best we can with what we have, and letting go of judgement and criticism of how we did that. As your therapist, using mindfulness, we will not seek to get rid of past behaviors, so much as we will seek to expand your perspective to include multiple ways of being in relationship and acting in the world in a more satisfying way for you. It’s about empowering you with the ability to choose! Paulo Rebello is a graduate of John F. Kennedy’s Integral Psychotherapy program. His work and style are strongly influenced by Integral Theory, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, Mind-Body Integration, Dan Wile’s Collaborative Couple Therapy. He enjoys working with clients and couples of any orientation, and specializes in issues of culture diversity, sexuality, addiction, depression and anxiety, intimacy and issues of challenge in relationships. Paulo’s clients are invited to explore in therapy what new types of relationship experiences might be available to them. Paulo is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
